When you select “New Quiz” from the File Menu, a dialog box will come up which will allow you to select the type of quiz you want.
In the first quizzes (those above the line in the dialog box) you will use your mouse to select the given area. You can either doubleclick the mouse in the area or click the mouse once, highlighting the country, and press 'RETURN' on the keyboard.
In the last quizzes (those below the line in the dialog box), an area will be highlighted by the computer. You can use the mouse or the keyboard to select the correct answer from a list. Typing a character will scroll the list to the first answer beginning with that letter (or the next answer if none begin with the given letter). You can also use the arrow keys to scroll the list.
Any time during the quiz you can select “Show Score” from the Options Menu to find out your current score.
¶Learn Mode
After selecting “Learn Mode” from the Options Menu, you can get information about any of the areas on the map.
You can click the mouse in any of the areas to get information about that state, territory, or country. You can also use the keyboard to bring up the information. Typing a character will bring up information about the first area (in alphabetical order) which begins with the typed letter. You can also use the arrow keys to 'page' through the areas in alphabetical order.
¶Save
After selecting “Save” from the File Menu, a dialog box will come up allowing you to choose which areas you want to save to disk. You can choose to save all of the areas or only those which you select. Use your mouse to select the desired areas from the map. A copy of the information about the selected areas will be saved to your disk in TEXT format which can be opened by any word processor.
¶Print
After selecting “Print” from the File Menu, a dialog box will come up allowing you to choose which areas you want to print. You can choose to print all of the areas or only those which you select. Use your mouse to select the desired areas.
¶Print Map
Selecting “Print Map” from the File Menu will send a copy of the entire map to your printer.
